With a strong background in community building and empowerment, paying particular attention to youth, Thomael has worked both in her native USA as well as in Cyprus on youth empowerment projects, concentrating on improving life conditions and inculcating skills of conflict resolution and mediation. A community transformator, Thomael has an extensive involvement in community projects, and various awards to attest for her commitment to it including the prestigious New York City Urban Fellowship, and the Audre Lorde Award for socially conscious poetry from Hunter College. | |||
