Executive Summary
The conference was organised by Future Worlds Center to conclude the European Project “Uniting for Citizenship and Participation: Youth Promoting Vulnerable Groups’ Rights, Opportunities and Knowledge. It focused on an ideal European Youth Environment, based on Diversity, Human Rights, Social Inclusion and Active Citizenship, in which youth participate. The conference congregated 3 participants per country (representing the 3 different stakeholder groups A, B and C) plus 3 members of the Human Rights Education Youth Network and another 5 youth experts, representatives and policy makers from the EU region in order to
- present the outputs of the regional SDDP co-laboratories and good practice examples from all 12 countries
- present the results of the international youth survey
- allow for discussions and debate among stakeholders, experts, and policy makers
- draft a joint declaration on citizenship and participation which will be disseminated to regional, national and European youth policy stakeholders
- discuss possible follow-up activities.
Additionally, 28 participants affiliated with youth organisations in Latvia, Poland, Slovakia, France, Italy, Greece, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Cyprus, as well as a European network registered in Spain participated in the conference.
