The International Program Development Fund award is a University of Arizona Award given to professors for their initiatives in starting operations in other countries. It has been awarded to Yiannis Laouris and Douglas G. Stuart in 1991 for their initiatives to launch to neuroscience center in Cyprus, which finally led to the establishment of the Cyprus Neuroscience and Technology Institute. The award supported international program development. In the context of this award, Yiannis Laouris taught a course on neurophysiology to young scientists of the Cyprus Neuroscience and Technology Institute and the Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics and the credits were recognized by the external program of the university.
