The Hellenic Youth Council (ESYN) was founded in 1998 in Athens, Greece. It is an independent, non-governmental and non-profit federation of more than 44 youth organisations that count 350,000 members. ESYN works as a platform of Hellenic Youth Organisations and is the official representative of the youth in issues of internal affairs as well as the official representative of Greek youth outside the national realms.
Our Principles
ESYN works under the principles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the European Convention on Human Rights. It runs under its memorandum of association, always in accordance with the Greek Constitution and the laws of the Greek State.
The Hellenic Youth Council campaigns in favor of democratic principles, human rights and equality.
Member Organisations
The member organisations of the Hellenic Youth Council are social and political organisations, which equally participate in the activities of ESYN, sharing the same rights and obligations.
ESYN promotes the objectives of its member organisations and encourages the exchange of views and experiences between them in order to better campaign issues of national interest. Additionally, it supports the strengthening of the relationships between its member organisations and foreign NGOs.
Organisations which cannot take part in ESYN are those organisations that promote racist or xenophobic ideas, or in general ideas of hatred or exclusion, or which take any course of action towards the spreading of such ideas.
